2017 Kelman Reserva Lagar, Dão

Vinification: Hand harvested and sorted in the cellar to guarantee only healthy grapes were used. Stalk removal, crushing and finally fermentation took place in granite lagar (foot press). A careful maceration with temperature control was made for best expression and typicity of the varieties.
Aging: Touriga Nacional aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Tinta Roriz and Alfrocheiro were aged in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, a slight clarification with agent of vegetable origin is made followed by filtration, to maintain the aromas and structure. Natural Stabilization; small sediment may appear.
Tasting Notes: Direct, with an alder frame around gently mulled plum and blackberry notes, while cinnamon, red tea and tobacco emerge through the finish.
