Founded in 2012 by engineers Hélder Garção, Rui Álvares, and Silvestre Natário — graduates of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança — Iberiensis, Lda is a certified microenterprise (IAPMEI) dedicated to producing premium bee products for national and international markets.
Rooted in generations of family beekeepers, the founders combine scientific rigor with deep respect for nature — crafting honey that reflects both academic precision and rural heritage.
From the Mountains of Trás-os-Montes
Iberiensis maintains beekeeping herds across Bragança, Vila Flor, Boticas, and Montalegre, including areas within the Montesinho Natural Park. These territories are recognized by the FAO as World Agricultural Heritage Sites.
The region’s varied altitude, climate, and wild flora — from shrubs to mountain blossoms — give rise to honeys with distinct floral character and natural complexity.
Monofloral Honey & Certified Quality
Iberiensis specializes in monofloral honeys typical of northern Portugal, including chestnut, rosemary, wild blackberry (silva), and broom honey. Each variety expresses a precise sense of place.
All batches undergo melissopalynological (pollen) and residue (antibiotic) analyses by accredited laboratories — guaranteeing floral authenticity and the absence of contaminants.
“We blend science and tradition to craft authentic Portuguese honeys that honor the land, the bees, and the people who care for them.”
