2021 Queimas Field Blend White, Dão
$25.00

Varietals: Encruzado (50%), Malvasia, Gouveio, Bical, Cercial, and others.

Viticulture: Our white Field Blend 2021 was made from a single vineyard planted in 1993 in our Quinta do Laranjal. This vineyard is planted in the old style, with the grape varieties all mixed up. The proportion represent the intended final blend. A true Dão pearl!

Vinification: The grapes were manually picked and carefully selected. Minimalistic approach in the winery consisting of direct press of the grapes, controlled fermentation.

Ageing: 7 months in stainless steel, rest in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: Floral aroma with citric and pit fruits, especially orange blossom, lemon, and peach, with a mineral touch for added complexity. The wine appears dry with natural acidity, which gives it good intensity and harmonizes its alcohol volume. Noteworthy are the notes of citrus fruit and tropical fruit, with grapefruit and a soft touch of green pineapple coming to the fore during the tasting. Great aging potential.
