2017 Duquesa Maria Vinho Regional Alentejano

The Duquesa Maria Superior wines are characterized by an added structural complexity.  

From a blend of traditional varietals, this wine, from grapes harvested in the first light of day, has concentrated ruby color with good aromatic intensity where the notes of blackberry and plum are highlighted.

Viniculture: The grapes are 100% destemmed, 2 days for cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation begins at 20ºC and ends at 25ºC in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting notes: In the mouth it has soft and elegant tannins and a good acidity that gives it freshness.

Varieties: 40% Aragonez, 30% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Touriga Nacional & 10% Trincadeira

Aging: 50% of blend aged in used French and American oak barrels for 6 months bringing out a wide array of complex aromas and soft tannins, providing a perfect balance between the fruit and the wood notes.

Pairing: Pairs well with stews, game meat, tofu, veggie burgers, cottage cheese.
